Apart from Korir he is also competing with Hon Benson Milimo of Ford Kenya, Hon Patrick simiyu of DAP-kenya and Hon John Njuguna. At the moment the ground seems to be favouring Hon Wesley Korir of UDA. Political analysts relate this with the influence of the party. It should be noted that Cherengany is one of the regions perceived to to be a UDA zone hence its very easy for one to win whrn on UDA ticket.

Although Hon Joshua Kutuny has withdrawn from national politics to go and concertrate on his re-election, the ground is still slippery considering also that he and William Ruto do not dine at the same table. The majority who believe that William Ruto is their spokesperson feel that electing Wesley would be a big score to him.
Although Hon Joshua still controls a huge population of voters in the area, it will need him to do extra much inorder to be re-elected. One of what he should do according to local political analysts is focusing on his individual parliamentarian bid and leave others to campaign for themselves and more especially at the presidency level. Otherwise at the moment the mp is still facing some sleepless nights from his close rival. This is a threat to his political career putting in mind that staying away from active politics for five years is a very long period of time.
