After camping in the Coastal region for the better part of last week and early this week as he engaged its residents in empowerment programs, sold his 2022 presidential bid and popularized his United Democratic Alliance party, Deputy President William Ruto has taken his "reggae" to Western Kenya with an extensive tour of the Luhya land.
The DP who will camp in Western Kenya for the whole of this weekend commenced his tour in Kakamega county and the first stop was at Khayega market in Shinyalu constituency which is home to ODM's Hon. Kizito Mugalia.
The DP was received in the county by the former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale who is also eying to succeed Governor Wycliffe Oparanya on a UDA ticket come next year.
Shortly after greeting each other, his allies and politicians aspiring to run for various seats on UDA ticket, the DP was led to Kakamega market for a rally by Khalwale and it didn't take long before a huge crowd converging around their motorcade as seen in the photo below.
The schedule of the DP's Kakamega empowerment tour has it that after Khayega market, he'll proceed to Khwisero in Ikolomani constituency then Sabatia, Musanda, Shianda and will close the day with a rally in Mumias town at around 4pm in the evening.
