Uhuru' s interview: Uhuru cites challenges he faced during his 10 year Presidency

President Uhuru took his time to narrate his experience during his 10 year term which is about to come to a close after 2022 elections are held on August 9 which will see Kenyans elect new leaders.

In an interview held on Sunday evening at statehouse, the president cited a number of challenges he faced during his reign among them the ICC cases which frustrated him at a time he wanted to deliver to Kenyans and nullification of 2017 elections which brought about tension to the country at a time he had a mandate to maintain peace in the country.

He also revealed other challenges such as the Covid 19 pandemic and Ukraine - Russia war which took a toll to Kenya's economy. "The Covid period was not an easy one, it was a matter of life and death and we had to act first to save people. We had to even lock the country. Then the Ukraine War happened which also had effect in our country, " he said.

The president expressed his regret over BBI failure as he argued out it was meant to benefit all Kenyans. He urged the country to remain peaceful and united even as we had to the upcoming elections.
