Governor Okoth Obado is The Best Governor in Kenya Despite The Scandals Surrounding Him[Opinion]

In the 2013 general elections, Mr. Okoth Obado was elected as the first governor of Migori county. He is also likely to secure this seat come 2022 general elections in Kenya.

Generally, it has not been easy with Mr. Obado since he took the this seat in 2013. His political regime has been faced with several challenges. However, he has never given up in developing his county despite these challanges.

Mr. Okoth Obado constructed the first ever tarmac road in Migori town. This project costed him KSh 180 million. The road runs from Migori Post office junction through the county and national government headquarters. It is important to note that this is the only tarmacked road outside the main Kisii-Isebania Highway.

He has also ensured the growth of the agricultural sector. He has pumped in huge sums of money to expand the depots in areas like Oyani, Ngege and Anjego. This move is meant for the overall growth of the national cereals board depot in Migori county.

The great leader has also been in the front line when it comes to natural disaster management. He has ensured continuous mitigation of dessiltation process to control the floods in some parts of Migori. He has also been distributing food and other material donations to families affected by floods. Obado has also distributed dairy cows to each and every farmer of tobacco and sugarcane in Migori county.

Not leaving out the education sector, Obado offer bursaries to all students in secondary and higher learning institutions. In addition, he has also launched free feeding program for nursery schools in his home county. For effective learning, he ensured the provision of learning resources for primary schools to help in implementing CBC(Competency Based Curriculum).
