University of Nairobi Lecturer Herman Manyora has warned both Deputy President William Ruto and his main rival Raila Odinga against choosing 'just anyone' to deputize them ahead of the August elections.
The Vocal political analyst argued that the duo are between a rock and a hard place, and their presidential bids would either be built or broken based on who they settle as their running mate ahead of the IEBC deadline.
After reports emerged that Ruto might have settled on Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki as his deputy, Manyora holds the view that Kindiki will be more of a liability to his bid, and should therefore consider someone else.
In a video posted in his You Tube Channel today, Manyora notes that there are only three people from Mount Kenya East who commands numbers and should anytime be considered for senior positions.
He listed the Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi who is aligning towards Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance Camp, Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya and Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi, both of whom are supporting Raila led Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party.
On Kalonzo Musyoka, Manyora claimed that the former VP is making a mistake by staying bold about getting the running mate position of Azimio, and he is being misled by his Wiper Party allies.
He warned the Wiper party leader that if he fails to get the deputy position, he will be pushed to oblivion and Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior will be the next Ukambani kingpin, defeating the three Ukambani governors Charity Ngilu, Alfred Mutua and also Kivutha Kibwana.
