Constitutionally, Kenyans are entitled to right to practice their democracy through elections that are held after every 5 years, after the introduction of multi party system, political parties are formed each and every time election dates come close, even nowadays many parties come together and form coalitions with an aim of winning the election.
However, there are 6 elective posts people vie for; Member of county assembly seat, Member of National assembly, Women representative, Senatorial seat, Gubernatorial seat and lastly Presidential seat. The Senate plays big role in the formulation and passing of laws, therefore Kisumu being among the largest counties, the residents of Kisumu chose Prof Peter Anyang'Nyongo'as their first senator since devolution came, next election he vied for the gubernatorial seat and Fred Outa took the position as the second senator of Kisumu county.
As people aspire to vie for different posts, people are asking how will the race be for Senatorial seat in Kisumu county if the following people will join the race; Tom Ojienda, Patrick Ayiecho Olweny, Milton Ogada and Philip Pande.
