The announcement was made on Monday during Raila's regional consultative meeting in Kaijiado by the former chairman of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission.Raila, according to Kaparo, has the Maasai Community's best interests at heart.Kaparo was the chairman of the Ruto-led United Republican Party, one of 13 parties that merged to form the Jubilee coalition ahead of the 2017 elections.
“Even though I am not a member of the ODM or Jubilee parties, let me tell you the truth: the man (Raila) cannot harm the Masaai community,” said Kaparo.
The declaration foreshadows a significant shift in the region's politics ahead of next year's elections.
