Today Ukambani leaders camped in Nguu Masumba ward to campaign for their preferred ward candidates. Three candidates are competing to win the ward seat which was left vacant after the death of area MCA Harris Ngui.
Today they was a show of political power as Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka leads their respective campaign teams in Nguu Masumba ward. The two leaders were campaigning for their different candidates.
Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana led campaign brigade for independent candidate Timothy Maneno. He made various stop overs at Masumba, Kikumini, Ndulu and Ndunguni. The governor attracted large crowd of local residents. He was accompanied by several leaders allied to his Muungano party.
On the other hand, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka led Wiper campaigns. He drummed support for Wiper candidate Eshio Mwaiwa. He was accompanied by One Kenya Alliance principals and other Wiper elected leaders led by Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior. The leaders urged the local residents to vote for their candidate in the coming by election.
The by election will be held on 14th October 2021. UDA party has also fielded their candidate.
