The Insane Cost Of Printing One Ballot Paper According To IEBC

There are many things Kenyans take for granted, for example, have you ever wondered how much it costs to print a single ballot paper? Well Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) have made that reveal.

As the first batch of printed ballot papers arrived into the country from Greece through JKIA, the CEO of IEBC Marjan Hussein Marjan was there to receive them. While speaking to the media, Marjan revealed that printing of the ballot papers will cost taxpayers Ksh 3.2 Billion provided there are no corrections necessary.

A whooping 22,120,258 papers will be printed for each of the 6 elective seats in the August 9th General Elections.

Doing the math, each ballot paper will cost the taxpayer Ksh 23, inclusive of VAT.

Now that's pretty expensive.
