The Governor has been slammed by the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua following the ban of Matatu in CBD. The deputy president while in Nyeri county has said that the plan by governor Johnson Sakaja to relocate Matatu from CBD would hurt businesses owned by Mt kenya people. Deputy president added by saying that he is the one who mobilised the Kikuyu vote for him, so he should not hurt them. He reminded Sakaja of how he engineered the downfall of 'Lee Kinyanjui' after he evicted Matatu from Nakuru CBD.
