Comparison Between President Suluhu And Uhuru's Presidential Jets

President Uhuru Kenyatta and president Samia Suluhu have one think in common. They both used National Carriers during their last international trips instead of their presidential jets.

President Kenyatta visited Democratic Republic of Congo three weeks ago for three days state visit while President Samia Suluhu is in Kenya for a two days state visit. Of

President Uhuru's jet is Fokker 70 have which purchased in 1995 by the late president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi. It was manufactured in the Netherlands.

Fokker 70 ER is one of the most expensive presidential jets in Africa. It is fuel efficient. It is maintained by Kenya Airforce Engineers and crew who are trained in Netherlands.

The plane operates on two rear mounted Rolce Royce Tay power engines each generating 13000 pounds of thrust.

The jet has a seating capacity of 26 passengers.

On the other hand, Tanzania presidential jet is Gulfstream G550 purchased in 2004 by president Benjamin Mkapa at a cost of USD 40m.

The Gulfstream G550 has a seating capacity of 19 passengers and this could be the main reason why president Suluhu decided to use Air Tanzania because of the huge delegation that accampanied her.

Because of security reasons many details about these jets are never disclosed.
