Danstan Omar: There Are Only Three Capable 2022 Presidential Candidates

Danstan Omar is a political analyst and a city lawyer based in Nairobi. Omar was this morning interviewed in KTN News Center on the looming NASA reunion. According to him, the earliest a serious 2022 alliance can only be formed is March 2022. The recently formed One Kenya Alliance is going nowhere. As per him, the alliance is just after money. He has revealed that Musalia Mudavadi had to rely on Statehouse and Gideon Moi for his campaigns in Matungu, his grassroots. He has further revealed that 2022 campaigns may cost an estimated 20 to 30 billion Kenya shillings.

This is a huge sum of money that so far, only three people can raise; Raila Odinga, Gideon Moi and William Ruto. He has revealed that William Ruto has had to reduce his handouts before he knows how much 2022 campaigns would cost. Raila Odinga had opted for the handshake in 2018 in order to restore his resources that he used in the campaigns. Omar has further ruled out on the possibility of Raila Ruto. He has revealed that William Ruto can not deputise Raila Odinga because he has already served as a deputy president. On the other hand, Raila Odinga is too old to deputise William Ruto.

Omar has further advised John Mbadi to consider disbanding ODM party. According to him, ODM has not been in a position to win any election because the party is too old. According to him, parties and alliances unveiled a few months before elections are the ones that have been winning.
