Two hundred and seventy Members of County Assemblies from Western Kenya that include Trans Nzoia, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and Kakamega Counties are demanding an additional Ksh half a million to support the Building Bridges Initiative.
According to a report by the Standard the MCAs who met ANC's party leader Musalia Mudavadi among other leaders stated that they do not have funds to popularize the report to their respective constituents.
Earlier on, the governors from these counties had promised to fund each MCA Ksh 300,000 for the drive but they are now requesting for a top up up to Ksh 500,000.
This will be in addition to the Ksh 2Million car grant promised by the president. The report states that the Ward leaders from Trans Nzoia County had already received Ksh 1.3 Million of the car grants with the other counties still waiting.
Other leaders who attended the meeting include Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mr. Eugene Wamalwa, Vihiga Givernor Wilbur Ottichilo, Busia Gvernor Sospeter Ojaamong, Wycliffe Wangamati from Bungoma and Moses Wetang’ula.
Members of Parliamnet present include Chris Wamalwa from Kiminini, Alfred Agoi from Sabatia and nominated MP Mr. Godfrey Osotsi.
