"I Never Said Ruto Won't Be Allowed to Assume Office if Elected President, " Francis Atwoli Now Says

Francis Atwoli, the Secretary General of the Central Organization Trade Union (COTU), has recently issued a clarification over certain remarks attributed to him regarding William Ruto, the head of the UDA party.

Atwoli has made clear in his statement that he has never implied that Ruto will not be permitted to assume office if he wins the election.

"I never stated that. I have never stated that William Samoei Ruto will not be permitted to assume Office if he wins. I have never used such terminology. If you have won elections, then you have won elections ,"said COTU General Secretary Francis Atwoli.

Atwoli has also asserted that the Kenyan constitution permits Ruto to assume office following his election victory. In conclusion, he has urged individuals not to misquote him by stating different things than he has said previously.

"According to our constitution, he will be the president of the Kenyan republic if he is duly elected. What I have repeatedly stated, and I do not want anyone to misquote me as they are attempting to do,"Francis Atwoli, secretary general of the COTU, remarked.
