Today's Situation In Kisumu After Yesterday's Fracas Between Residents and The Police

The Kisumu city near the lake was marred by riots immediately after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEB) chairman Wаfula hebukati declared D. William Ruto the resident-elect. These riots were especially caused by Kondele pro-Raila supporters.

The announcement disappointed locals who had been hoping that DM leader Raila Singh would finally win following his fifth term as president.

The need to respond quickly, control the situation, and scatter the boisterous adolescents with tear gas forced the cops to do so.

A day later, Tuko News posted a piece about the state of the city and included images with it.

"Peace has returned to Kisumu after an evening of skirmishes between the police and demonstrators. A quick inspection of Lakeside City found efficient transportation and small business operations"

As Kenyans wait for any new information from the Azimio team regarding the best course of action, many politicians on both sides of the political spectrum are encouraging them to keep the peace and remain united.
