His ambitions to succeeding Governor Ali Hassan Joho raised major concerns with several people claiming that he is not welcomed in Mombasa, and others claiming he will not make it in the Coastal region.
Addressing the media today, some Kaya elders have sounded their warning to some politicians who are allegedly trying to jeopardise Mike Mbuvi Sonko's advances in becoming the governor of Mombasa County.
According to the Kaya elders, Mike sonko has the constitutional rights to vie for Mombasa County gubernatorial seat as well as they revealed that he was born and he belongs to the Coastal town.
"Sonko ana haki kikatiba, Sonko ni mtoto wetu wa hapa pwani, Sonko amezaliwa hapa. (Mike Mbuvi Sonko has all the constitutional rights to vie. He is our son from the Coastal region, he was born here.)" The Kaya elders revealed.
