Reactions After Deputy President Dr William Ruto Condemned Politics Of Handouts

The Deputy President Dr William Ruto who is currently on a five day tour of the coastal region have condemned the politics of handouts. This is a type of politics whereby a aspiring politician gives out cash to electorates as a way of enticement.

Speaking in Kongowea market, Nyali constituency, the second in command stated that the economy of a country can never be grown on basis of handouts but rather on a sustainable plans that will lead to creation of jobs and expansion of enterprises.

Kenyans had a mixed reaction to his statement with many pointing figures at him for being the chief of handouts. Others recalled the promises he made in to them in 2013 and 2017. They therefore clear the air by saying that he won't fool them again this time round.

He was accompanied by many coastal leaders among them, the current Nyali MP Mohammed Ali, Kilifi north Owen Baya and former Mombasa senator Hassan Omar. He is on a mission to snatch support base from the ODM leader Raila Odinga who considers coast to be his second bedroom after Nyanza.
