What May Happen Suppose The Winner Of Presidential Election Doesn't Get Atleast 50+1% Of Total Votes

In Kenya everyone in the age age of 18 and above has the right to participate in election process. In the year 2022,the total people who voted were roughly 14,000,000.The IEBC knows the exact figures which they will use to determine the next president. This is after considering factors like spoilt votes and uncounted votes.

Though there is a possibility of one candidate getting 50+1% votes of the total, there is a chance that it may fail. The winner should also get atleast 25% of votes from all 291 constituencies. So,suppose the candidate winning has not gotten 50+1 of the total votes casted.President Uhuru Kenyatta will retain his seat for the next 30 days. The candidates will be allowed to go back to campaign.

Thereafter, there will be rerun of presidential elections. After which the winner will be determined by the second election results.Put in your mind that the remaining positions will be retained apart from the president's position. The reruns are always costly and the government will always try to escape it by all means.

We are eagerly waiting for the presidential results for us to know who our next president will be.Stay tuned and follow my account for more interesting political news.source:
