Wednesday Star: Ruto Keeps Lead as Raila Reduces Gap as He Overtakes Ruto in Western And Coast

It is now about seven months to August 2022 General elections. Deputy President William Ruto who is a party leader for United Democratic Alliance party, Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka are among the heavyweights who have expressed their bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The 2022 presidential race will be one of the hotly contested race in history of Kenya's politics. In the Wednesday 17th January 2022, the Star released a opinion poll survey that was conducted by Radio Africa Group.

According to the survey, Deputy President William Ruto is leading the pack with 46.1%, followed by Raila Odinga with 35.1% with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi coming the third with 2.4 % and Kalonzo Musyoka the last with 1.4%. The survey also shows that ODM leader Raila Odinga has overtaken Dp Ruto in Western and Coastal Region making him to reduce the gap between him and Dp Ruto who is leading the pack.
