"Raila Odinga Will Not Vie in 2022 Since Odds Don't Favour Him" Political Analyst Claims

According to political expert David Makali, ODM leader Raila Odinga is unlikely to run for President in the upcoming 2022 General Election.

The current political arrangements, according to Makali, do not favor Raila if he successfully competes for the top seat for a record fifth time.

Makali emphasized that the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) team will not be bullied into supporting the former prime minister, citing their qualms about endorsing the ODM leader again.

At the same time, Makali refuted rumors that the 2022 election would be a battle between Raila and Ruto.

However, he stated that other contestants in the race should not be overlooked in the future.

"I do not believe the narrative that the race is between Raila Odinga and William Ruto is credible," he said. "I do not expect any new entrants to the presidential race, apart from those who have already expressed interest."

Makali believes that in the long term, the ODM leader will play a kingmaker role, endorsing the OKA candidate for the top position.
