The governor for Kajiado County has ashamed himself for sacking a CEC who declared he would contest for the Kajiado senatorial seat through UDA party ticket. It's a matter that has baffled many of how a person would just be sacked merely on grounds of political association as opposed to merit and competence.
According to the people daily, Samuel Seki had only announced that he would contest in 2022 through UDA. In getting node of the announcement the governor decided to remove him from his seat and replace him with another person from the county tourism docket.

Samuel Seki was running for the seat of governor in 2017 but stepped down to support Ole Lenku of jubilee party and that's how he was appointed as CEC. This therefore means he is also a political heavyweight by his own merit and is a person who understands the political trajectory of the country especially moving into 2022 general election.
It's shameful however that a whole governor can stoop to such low levels especially given it's because of William Ruto why he was elected governor for Kajiado. As fate would have it though, it's a matter of wait and see of what will unfold come 2022 especially in Kajiado County.
