Just In: Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Revokes Azimio House Leadership List, Reveals Why

Speaker of the House of Representatives in Nairobi, Ken Ng'ondi, has withdrawn the list of alleged leaders of Kenya's coalition party, Azimio One, saying he read it yesterday and said it was misunderstood.

According to a list he read shortly after taking office, the majority leader was Makongeni MCA Peter He Imwatok and his successor was John Endil of Lainisaba MCA.

The list included Kilimani MCA Moses Ogeta as majority whip, with Upper Savannah MCA Stazo Omungara as his deputy and candidate Catherine Okoth representing the county council.

Spokesman Ng'ondi, however, rejected the listing on the grounds that it did not come from a named party as required by the rules of procedure. he was wrongly in office and the newspaper advertisement stated that the notice was not a deal of the day and was therefore invalid.

The Speaker also ordered an investigation and strict disciplinary action against police officers who conspired to mislead the Speaker.
