Daring Bodaboda man today attracted Deputy President William Ruto's attention after he stormed the DP's political rally at Nyakoria, West Mugirango Constituency in Nyamira County carrying his motorbike.
The man who was being helped by two other man to carry the bike stormed the event as DP Ruto was speaking about employment for the youth, forcing Ruto to pause his speech to ask him to stay calm.
"Tumekuwa tukiongea mambo ya ajira miaka nenda miaka rudi (We have been talking about employment year in year out)," Ruto told the crowd.
"But this time, we must have a deliberate plan to create jobs for millions of young people because they are jobless and because they are languishing in poverty or, either they do not have money to do business or have jobs they cannot depend on," Ruto added before spotting the youthful man carrying the motorbike moving towards him.
Ruto quickly asked the man to stop where he was as he was distracting the crowd that was listening to him.
"Tafadhali Wewe mtu wa Bodaboda ngojea hapo. Please ngojea hapo (Please the Bodaboda guy wait there. Please wait)," Ruto told the man before continuing with his speech.
Ruto then told the crowd not to listen to people who are telling them that Bodaboda and other small scale businesses are not important as he vowed to help the small scale traders if he wins in August.
"Ni jukumu letu kuwasaidia. Wachana na injili ya shetani ambao wanasema ati Bodaboda ni Takataka. Ati watafunga mitumba. (It is our responsibility to help you. Leave alone who spead the devil's gospel that Bodaboda is nonsense. That they will close down Mitumba)," Ruto said.
The reason as to why the man stormed the meeting carrying his bike remained unknown despite moving close to DP Ruto during the speeches. However, this comes after the increase in prices of fuels across the country.
