Murkomen Unexpected Stand On CJ Koome's Involvement In Election Forum

Hours after the elections body IEBC disengaged from a committee formed by the state to guarantee election readiness in the country, Elgeyo Marakwe Kipchumba Murkomen has come out to weigh in on Koome's embroilment in the exercise.

This was after Koome' regardless of being criticized by William Ruto's camp demanding for his withdrawal, maintained that she is in the panel constitutionally and will not resign.

But antagonistic to the expectations of many in the UDA camp, Murkomen said he will not call out Koome to resign. He said he has a lot of great respectfor the CJ and is entitled to defend her place in the elections forum

According to the Ruto supporter Senator, the CJ should, however, do "soul searching and convince herself that working with persons who have taken political sides will bring honor and dignity to her office.

While presenting its termination, the IEBC has already accused the team headed by Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, Judiciary boss Martha Koome, ICT Boss Joe Mucheru and Treasury CS Ukur Yatani of interfering with its authority.

The commission warned about the involvement of government functionaries in poll preparations saying it risks eroding public confidence in the next general polls.

Chebukati said the team was directing the commission on how to conduct and coordinate its functions adding that they will not be part of the same.
