Narok Senator boldly submit the truth about corruption. He was speaking at Citizen TV being hosted by Sam Gituku.
Ledama was responding to an earlier weekend altercation between former allies Raila Odinga and William Ruto.
While speaking in Mombasa, ODM leader had earlier accused those who claim to be saint enough, to traverse different sections of Kenya with helicopters pretending to be caring enough and donating millions of money to churches and youth and 'mama mboga and bodaboda riders', when it is actually stolen taxpayers money from the government. "Wakati tutashika hatamu, tutahakikisha hao wote ambao ni fisadi wako ndani!"
On the other hand, Ruto responded by directly referring to him as the one, who in either forms of government, opposition or with government, has been embezzling youth and money for Covid sick people.
In light of these statements, Ledama said the following, "There is actually no saint, be it leaders or anyone else, we are all corrupt, even me, the entire Kenyans too."
According to him, metaphorically speaking, there is no need trading accusations of corruption, yet all of them suffer from the same disease, rather, look for prescription from the doctors, at the onset of 'signs and symptoms of such similar diseases'.
Our country needs proper and upright leaders who will see several vices attended to, and according to the constitution. Several reports and information all over the nation stinks of corruption here and there. When shall we address this 'evil' and effectively 'root out similar seeds that might have been planted all over the country?'
Scales of corruption are weighing high as opposed to the virtues of honesty, generosity and the feeling of empathy towards innocent and suffering Kenyans. It is really a shame, as once said by Edwin Sifuna on KTN.
If the country can eliminate this, we are talking of Kenya reaching the height of Singapore.
