After Raila Odinga announced Martha Karua as his running mate, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka left the Azimio camp and decided to run for the presidential seat and even announced his running mate.

It has however been said that Kalonzo might not be able to run for the post since the date for registration had passed. Narok County senator Ledama Lekina has come out to tell Kenyans that Kalonzo will soon be back at Azimio to support Raila in his presidential bid. Ledama said that the position he was offered by Raila at Azimio is a big one to leave.
"Kalonzo @skmusyoka will be back to Azimio sooner than later …. The proposed Chief Cabinet Secretary position for him is too good to let go… mark this tweet ….," Lekina said.
