The two leading candidates, former prime minister Raila Omolo Odinga and Deputy President Dr William Samoei Ruto, are currently neck-and-neck in the polls, as seen by KTN TV news, with DP Ruto slightly in the lead.

KTN News reports that the Deputy President is in the lead with 6,095,103 votes or 49.75 per cent of the total votes, and the leader of the ODM party is close behind with 5,985,551 votes or 48.86 per cent of the total votes. The competition between the two is close.

When they have counted nearly all of the A's from form 34A, Isaiah predicted that Raila Odinga will win the first round.

Voter turnout in the General Election held in Kenya on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, was significantly lower than in previous elections.

Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) figures show that 64% of eligible voters cast ballots by the time polls closed. The participation rates in the last two elections far exceeded these numbers.
