Gathitu Maina is a father to many as well husband to Muranga women representative Sabina Chege. He has another wife who is the first wife as well.

Gathitu Maina is one hardworking gentleman as really one cannot have two wives if he was a lazy person. Having two wives even in the African contest was perceived as part of wealth.

Gathitu Maina is a however a person who largely lives a private life off public radar. Much details about him remain scanty. Unlike her powerful and vocal second wife, Gathitu and her first wife have opted to live a life away from the public arena.

The family is greatly in love and people can only envy as they are inseparable. Their unity has sometimes slipped to the public radar as Gathitu took her wife in 2017 to pick her certificate from IEBC after winning election as the Muranga women representative.
