As quoted in a publication by the People's Daily, speaking on Sunday after attending a church service in his constituency, Muchangi argued that Ruto is the only hope for the constituents, Mt Kenya Region and the country at large, further arguing that a Ruto presidency will pave way for the Akorino community.
He noted that he will consider running for the presidency after Ruto completes his tenure.
On the same breathe, Embu's UDA gubernatorial candidate Cecily Mbarire affirmed that Ruto was the 'sure bet' for the community and the region, saying that the DP has the interests of the residents at heart.
She however blasted the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance candidates from Mount Kenya, saying that they were duping their own presidential candidate Raila Odinga, since they were adamant of printing their campaign posters bearing the name and pictures of the ODM party leader.
The leaders remarks comes few days after Ruto toured the county where he held an Economic Forum, which came a day after Azimio's running mate and Narc Kenya's party leader Martha Karua campaigned in the county.
The Mount Kenya region is now the battle ground for both Ruto and Raila, with the DP seeking to ensure that his votes are intact, while the former Prime Minister working to ensure that he 'eats' in to the region after settling on Karua as his DP.
