Kisii County Governor Paul Simba Arati says he will not go back on his decision to work with President William Ruto and his government. The Orange Democratic Movement Party governor said he would develop his district only by working with the president.
Arati said Ruto is the current president and he cannot have bad blood with him, but he is dependent on the support of the national government to develop his constituency.

Arati told his critics who attacked him for working with President Ruto that no one would focus on how to fulfill his promises to the people of Kisii.
Arati had criticized the then Deputy President William Ruto, and in an incident in Kisii town, when he openly attacked Ruto, there was a fight between Mugirango South Constituency member Sylvanus Osoro. Arati, who is the Member of Parliament for Dagoretti North, continued his attack on Ruto immediately after the general election.
The governor met with President Ruto in December 2022 and other leaders from Gusii land and announced that he would work with the president later.
Azimio is the governor of Kenya's La Umoja-One coalition party which has publicly announced that they will work with the president. Others include Wawinya Ndeti from Machakos, Gideon Mungaro from Kilifi County, Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir Sheriff, Turkana Governor Lomokurai and those who have not publicly declared their relationship with the president.
