Court Orders Kiambu Politician To Pay 8 Million After Withdrawing His Election Results Case

Cases about the unsatisfied August general elections results are still ongoing. Most politicians who think that the elections were not free and fair and also the results announced by the IEBC officials were not correct, the headed to the court to seek justice. Most politicians have not gotten whatever they thought they could but some have ended in tears.

In Kiambu county, court has ordered petitioner Aloise Kinyanjui to pay around Kenya Shillings 8 million to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the Juja Member of Parliament, George Koimburi.

This is after he Withdrew his case challenging Koimburi's elections win as the Juja Member of Parliament. According to the court the total cost of 8 million is termed as the amount of cost for his withdrawal of the elections results case.

Is the amount really reasonable? After seeking to challenge the win then withdraws his case costs him 8 million.
