Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance leaders have reacted to the decision of the Ugenya Member of Parliament Hon David Ochieng to dump the Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja coalition and joined President elects Dr. William Samoei Ruto's Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
While speaking in a campaign rally in the Kibra constituency, the Azimio la Umoja leaders condemned the vocal lawmaker describing him as a traitor to Raila Odinga and Azimio la Umoja coalition.
Azimio lawmakers led by Makadara Member of Parliament Hon George Aladwa accused David Ochieng of using Raila Odinga's name and influence to clinch the Ugenya parliamentary seat but later betrayed him by joining the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
They assured supporters who had turned up at the Kibra rally that no other leader will be bought by Kenya Kwanza in the coming days. They vowed to remain in the Azimio coalition and remain loyal to Raila.
The decision of David Ochieng and his Movement for Democracy and Growth party to join the Kenya Kwanza coalition elicited mixed reactions from Nyanza. Residents took to the streets to protest his decision to dump Raila Odinga for President-elect William Ruto.
All attention will now focus on David Ochieng to see how he will relate to residents of Ugenya in the coming days.
