Kiambu county Gubernatorial aspirant declared that they would not accept defeat even if they were surpassed by their main rival.
The politicians, led by incumbent Governor James Nyoro, say the elections are neither free nor fair and therefore their defeat would be unfair. So they don't always recognize or celebrate the winners, instead declaring that they will use whatever means are available to pursue defeat.
Running for the Jubilee Party, Nyoro joins other Jubilee candidates such as George Mara, who is running for the Senate seat. "I have yet to accept the result or congratulate my opponent," Mara told The Star on Saturday.
Others include David Gakuyo, parliamentary candidate for Tika Town, Damaris Wambui of Kiambaa, Owen Ndungu (Kikuyu) and Gladys Chania, a candidate representing women.
Gakuyo claims that local elections are disrupted by Root's UDA party and says that the UDA wave does not exist in the region.
“Nothing like a wave of UDA in Mount Kenya because the process is flawed,” They stated that their agents were not allowed to enter the polling station. We know what happened and IEBC should ask for a recount of votes,” he said.
