Nyeri County Governor who was formerly allied to Azimio la Umoja camp have decided to join Deputy President Dr William Samoei Ruto's United Democratic Alliance party.

The Uchumi Kwanza coalition seemed to have reaped big from their rally as they received several defectors from Jubilee government to the United Democratic Alliance Party ( UDA)

The deputy president who still seems to enjoy a larger support from the Mount Kenya region, during his tour together with other leaders including his counterparts, for example the party leader of Amani National Congress (ANC) Musalia Mudavadi and his counterpart the party leader of Ford Kenya Moses Masika Wetangula.

The deputy president Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta held his Uchumi Kwanza Coalition rally in Nyeri county just a few days after the highly hyped Sagana 3 declaration where the president led his party, that is the Jubilee party in declaring support for the former prime minister abd the party leader of Orange Democratic movement ( ODM) Raila Amollo Odinga.

The said governor who hails from mount Kenya region, is said to have officially ditched the Jubilee party and would be seeking for reelection with the UDA ticket.
