Kenya African National Union (KANU) is a political party that championed Kenya Independence in 1963. The party is currently under the leadership of Baringo senator Hon. Gideon Moi as the chairman and Hon. Nick Salat as the party's secretary general.
Today, Nick Salat has said that KANU will be on the ballot paper as it will field a presidential candidate come August 9th next year. Salat has made the remarks today while addressing the party's delegates at Mombasa county.
Baringo senator Hon Moi has camped at coastal region to popularize his presidential bid on KANU ticket ahead of 2022 polls. Nick Salat on the other side has said that the KANU is the only party that has advocated for peace, love and unity since Kenya attained Independence.
In conclusion, Baringo senator Gideon Moi has already declared his presidential bid come August 2022 despite joining One Kenya Alliance (OKA) that has brought together key leaders such as Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula.
