Usain Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and Kapseret Member of parliament Oscar Sudi engaged in war of words over the senatorial seat comes 2022. Jackson Mandago who is serving the last gubernatorial term declared that he will vie for the Senate seat which Oscar Sudi was not impressed with it.
"Mandago should now come out like other men and seek national votes. He needs to go and campaign in Western, Eastern or in Mombasa and leave this seat (senate) for young men," said Sudi while speaking in Kalenjin dialect.
Oscar on his side took the bid issue saying the county boss should now focus on national politics and leave the county in the hands of young generation. However Mandago was quick to reply and asked Sudi to stop interfering with his senatorial bid arguing that everyone has a right to vie for any seat so long he qualifies for that position.
" Some people are in parliament but can not even propose one law. He (Sudi) will not decide for me on what to do. Wacha upuzi, mimi ni moto wa kuotea mbali (I'm tough), don't try me," said Mandago.
Now some governors are running their second and last term in office, is it right for them to run for the lower offices? Share your thoughts on this.
