The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) spent the majority of Wednesday, July 6, in a crisis meeting to discuss their options following the repeal of a rule requiring presidential candidates to submit copies of supporters' identification cards and at least 48,000 signatures before being cleared.
The IEBC Commissioners and its legal team reportedly convened to go over all of the possibilities, including challenging Anthony Mrima's High Court ruling.
The Commission might be compelled to include independent candidate Reuben Kigame and the governor of Murang'a Mwangi wa Iria on the presidential ballot as a result of the decision.
With only 32 days until the August general election, the Commission debated crucial matters such as election readiness and assessed how the decision will affect the campaigning time.
What should the IEBC do in the elections in August, in your opinion? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below and following this page, thank you.
