President William Ruto has revealed sensitive information about the amount of danger that Chebukati managed to overcome due to going against his competitors in last year's general elections.

He revealed that there was a plan to abduct Chebukati and end his life so that someone else takes over to deliver the results in favour of Ruto's competitors.
"We also know that there was a direct attempt to abduct Wafula Chebukati and murder him so that the commission would be paralyzed or a compliant commissioner would take over and subvert the people's sovereignty," the president said.

The president claimed that it was a hard, cold and lonely time for Chebukati because the threats were dire.
He applauded Chebukati for endeavouring to do the right thing despite the pressure that he was subjected to.
DP Rigathi Gachagua on the other hand promised that Chebukati will be provided with tight security to protect him from the dangerous people that he antagonized during the elections.
