The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has proved too strong than majority of the parties found in Nyanza province. They have dominated in majority of seats in the region. In Homabay county, the party is currently dancing with joy after they have won all the top seats, starting from governor to the women representative.
Below are the winners as reported by Citizen TV Kenya.
1. Governor - The winner is Gladys Wanga. She is under ODM party. She has won Homa Bay Governor seat with 244,559 votes beating Independent candidate Evans Kidero who gathered 154,182 votes. Wanga had been their women representative in the last five years. She performed excellently and that is why the residence have given her a fresh term as a governor.
2. Senator - The winner is Moses Kajwang of ODM. He has defend his seat with 353,882 votes beating Thomas Ojanga of KANU who got 18,690 votes.
3. Women representative - The winner is Joyce Bensouda of ODM. She got 284,348 votes beating Independent candidate Moline Marucha who got 67,037 votes.
