Personal doctor to for President Mwai Kibaki revealed how the former Prime Minister Hon Raila Amollo Odinga was helpful when Kibaki got an accident in the run up to the 2002 general election.

Dr. Dan Gikonyo said that they had sought the help of Kenya Airways to take Kibaki to England for specialized treatment, but they were given three seats at the back of the plane.

When they asked to be given first class seats, KQ staff demanded that they pay first, Dr Gikonyo says that honorable Raila offered to pay so as his President gets to travel safely.

Dr Gikonyo goes on to state that, the challenge came when it was time to move Kibaki to the first class, because of the limited space on the isle, a stretcher cannot fit.

Honorable Raila went out and brought around nine young energetic men who carried the stretcher while moving on their knees until they got Honorable Kibaki to first class.

The doctor confesses that it is through such things that he respects honourable Raila Odinga.
