Murathe Launches Attacks To Dp Ruto & Dares Him To Explain The Source Of His Wealth

For David Murathe, the vice-chairman of the Jubilee party, William Ruto's promise that he would fight corruption as president if elected on August 9 is a lie. On Friday, during an interview on Spice FM, Murathe accused Ruto of using his position to obstruct anti-corruption efforts in the country.

He stated that "highly-placed state officials" were impeding investigation agencies to delaying prosecution of corruption accusations in court. Following the election's outcome on August 9, several cases involving public officials will be heard in court. It's unlikely that the issues will move forward, he said, if the man who wins the presidential election is the one currently serving as vice president. Murathe has also attacked the DP's methods of campaign financing.

For the previous 4.5 years, advertisements have been sponsored by an unknown party. Has anyone ever questioned the legitimacy of his wealth, he continued? Later, he clarified, "How can you sustain a full-fledged campaign around the country with five helicopters registered?" He wrote an open letter to Deputy President Ruto of Kenya, demanding that Ruto disclose the source of his wealth to the Kenyan people. What about the average person on the street who puts their faith in the President to combat corruption, to paraphrase a regular refrain? This is how the wise Murathe expressed it. It is Ruto's stated intention, should he be elected president in August's General Election, to take a hard stance against corruption.

He stated that interference from the Executive branch with the Judiciary was the primary obstacle in Kenya's fight against corruption. It is "our commitment to operationalize the Judiciary Fund and get the Judiciary to do its work independently," Ruto said so that corruption allegations don't drag on for a decade because the judiciary is under-resourced and lacks the personnel needed to do its job.
