Kenyan politics are taking different sharp twists across the country.This is because the politicians are taking the directions that they feel will provide a win for them.Different political parties are being formed ahead of 2022 elections.
The previous 2013 and 2017 coalitions are broken.The NASA coalition that constituted the bigwigs such as Raila, Kalonzo, Mudavadi, Wetangula and Joho is torn apart.Last week saw exchange of words amongst the principals.Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has expressed his interest in the Presidency through the ODM ticket.
On one side,the Jubilee faction is torn in the middle with President Kenyatta remaining with the original Jubilee while his Deputy forming the UDA faction.These two parties have undergone sharp divisions with the Kabuchai and Matungu by-elections revealing the sharp differences.
Recently,the MPs allied to DP Ruto threatened to withdraw their monthly remittances to Jubilee and channel them to UDA.This saw many of them write withdrawal letters from the Party.However,in what is seen as a U-turn, Jubilee Party Secretary Raphael Tuju has confirmed that the MPs have submitted their controversial February remittances contrary to the expectations.This is as reported by Friday's Star Newspaper.What do you think could have led to this U-turn?
