Ahmednasir Alleges The Obstacle That Has Blocked Raila to 'Concede' The Elections

To meet the seven-day deadline, Wafula Chebukati, chair of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), has been announcing presidential results from various constituencies.

The two major political parties, Kenya Kwanza Alliance and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party, have been claiming victory in the general elections while simultaneously setting up podiums for their respective candidates.

Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi claims that Azimio has lost the election and that Raila Odinga should accept defeat and congratulate Deputy President William Ruto.

However, he said that Azimio's shareholding structure has made this impossible. He added that some shareholders were allegedly using their veto power against other shareholders who thought they had been unfairly defeated in the polls.

"The primary barrier preventing Hon. Raila from making a gracious concession is azimio's shareholding structure. The majority of regular shareholders who honestly believe they lost the election legitimately and desire a gentle exit are being overruled by a select group of preferential shareholders who are using their veto power, he tweeted.
