Machakos county governor Mutua has explained his worry that the Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka will use Agnes Kavindu to give him hard time in governance. He however admits that Agnes Kavindu is a charismatic leader with all the qualities to succeed the late John Kabaka. Mutua has a candidate under the CHAP CHAP Party Mutua Katuku. He said this during a press address after leading the campaigns aimed at drumming up support for their candidate.

The relationship between the Machakos governor and wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been questionable since the two have been seen attack each other in political rallies. Mutua is now in his last term in office as a governor and has already declared his interest to go for the top seat in the August 2022 state house bid.

Machakos senator by election has attracted leaders from all corners of the country. Analysts now depict this by election as a competition between the Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and the UDA party leader William Ruto. It has been seen to have alot of impact ahead of 2022 state house bid. The winner here will uphold this as his stronghold ahead of 2022 general elections.

Earlier the Wiper party leader almost exchanged blows with the former Machakos senator Johnson Muthama who now blames Kalonzo of endorsing his ex wife Agnes Kavindu as the wiper candidate to ashame Muthama
