The event started by other leaders giving their speeches and showing loyalty to UDA party as the audience and Ruto listened to them.
When it was Lamu East MP Ali Sharif's turn to speak, the DP had decided attention since he was having a conversation with the person he was seated close to. This did not stand well with Sharif as he ordered him to listen to him attentively then continued to say what he had in mind.
He told the DP that the people of Mpeketoni love him so much because he was there for them when they were attacked and also contributed to the building of Mpeketoni Girls Secondary School.
He said, "Mheshimiwa Naibu wa Rais nataka unisikize vizuri.
