The Nominated Member of Parliament and former Murang'a County Woman Representative Sabina Chege has reacted to a statement by Azimio leader Raila Odinga that the former president Uhuru Kenyatta is not leaving Azimio. There were claims that Uhuru Kenyatta was going to resign as Chairman of Azimio Council. However Raila has dismissed the claims as propaganda.
But Sabina Chege has said that the the ODM leader's statement dismissing Uhuru's resignation will lead to more confusion in Jubilee and in the coalition. Sabina Chege has now called on the retired president to pronounce himself on the matter. Sabina added that reports that Uhuru was leaving Jubilee had made some leaders to start leaving the former ruling party.
"When reports that Uhuru would resign popped up, many leaders started getting out of the Jubilee Party. Now Raila has talked and this will lead to more confusion," said Sabina Chege who is also a member of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition Council.
Sabina Chege further faulted Uhuru Kenyatta over his silence. According to Sabina, Uhuru's silence will continue to hurt Jubilee Party. Sabina now want Uhuru to speak and reorganize his party. The nominated MP further stated that many politicians sacrificed their political ambitions because of Uhuru and he should therefore not remain silent.
"Unfortunately, Uhuru's continued silence will hurt his party. He needs to break the ice and reorganise the party. He is silent to many leaders who sacrificed their political ambitions because of him." Sabina Chege said.
