Analyst Herman Manyora 'Defends' Raila After Ruto Claimed He is Advocating For a Handout Government

Political Strategist Herman Manyora has defended the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga after Deputy President William Ruto and his allies dismissed the Sh 6,000 monthly stipend to jobless youth claiming that the ODM boss was advocating for a handout government

In a past political rally, Raila said that his administration will step in through the Social Welfare Plan and cushion jobless graduates who will be jobless during his regime if he wins the presidential seat next year.

While drumming up their support and popularizing the bottom-up economic model, Ruto's camp downplayed the payment terming it unrealistic and a 'fake promise' adding that the stipend translates to Sh 200 per day yet the 'hustlers' make at least Sh 500 per day.

Manyora on Friday, said that Raila is not a man who gives handouts and that his crowds are genuine.

"Raila and handouts in the same sentence is next to impossible. Raila gives nothing, when he goes to a rally, they just sing One Love and he leaves people dancing. There are no handouts in Raila's rallies, and the crowds are real, they are organic, nobody transports them. Raila is a magnet as people come voluntary to listen to him,' said Manyora.
