Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission is set to roll out mass voter registration across the country ahead of the much-awaited 2022 general elections. It is the dictates of the constitution that voter registration must be done.
However, Ahmednassir Abdullahi, a renowned lawyer, has hinted at how the government will Suppress voter registration in supposedly Deputy President Ruto's stronghold. According to him, the statehouse will order a delay in the issuance of the national identification cards.
Ahmednassir Abdullahi tweeted "With voter registration starting in October, mandarins in the OFFICE of the PRESIDENT will start playing the politics of ID CARDS...new ID CARDS for RIFT VALLEY, CENTRAL, NAIROBI, and NFD will hold up in "administrative snafu" to ensure voter registration is SUPPRESSED!"
Is this the grand plan by the deep state to freeze voters in Dp Ruto's stronghold to affect his voting pattern? Share your thoughts.
Meanwhile, Kenyans of goodwill are being urged to register to exercise their Democratic right in next year's general election.
