Today, Fred Matiangi, the former Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government in Kenya, was interrogated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over allegations of corruption and abuse of office. Following the interrogation, Matiangi emerged from the DCI headquarters looking composed and unbothered.
Speaking to journalists, Matiangi denied all allegations and expressed confidence in the DCI's investigation process. He further stated that he had cooperated fully with the DCI and provided all the necessary information they required.
In response, the DCI stated that they are continuing with their investigations and will provide updates as the case progresses. They also urged members of the public with any information that could assist in the investigations to come forward and share it with the relevant authorities.
Matiangi furthermore failed to answer questions regarding Article 49 of the constitution and thus will be arrested soon.
The interrogation of Matiangi has sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans, with some expressing hope that it will lead to the exposure and punishment of corrupt government officials, while others have criticized it as a politically motivated move aimed at tarnishing Matiangi's reputation
