Just In: High Court Finally Clears Popular Kenyan Leader Blocked From Contesting Over Impeachment

The independent electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC) is seemingly finding itself in the middle of a strong storm following various rulings by the High Court in the recent past.

For example, the high court ruled recently that the the requirement by the country's electoral body to demand for 48,000 ID copies from independent presidential candidates was out of order and unconstitutional, null and void.

And now, the Wafula Chebukati led commission has been hit hard with yet another judgement from the High Court which has declared the decision by IEBC to bar a Kiambu senator aspirant from contesting as null and void.

The high court has ruled that Karungo Thangwa is fit to be declared as a candidate for the Kiambu senator race as there is no evidence to prove that he was impeached as claimed by the commission.

"This court finds no reason to bar Karungo from vying for the Kiambu senator position," the court ruled.
